One of my silent auction winners from last year was the Kennedy Family. They were a family at Harry's preschool and have moved on to a new school as their girls are now in elementary school. Their girls were always smiling when I saw them walking in or out of school last year. I seriously don't know many children their age who are as happy and as smiley as these two stunning girls and it was so easy to take their photos!
A few weeks ago I met up with the Trumbo family for their photo shoot which was a gift from their sister-in-law last Christmas. It was a humid day but everyone held up well and seemed to have a great time. Mom and dad were so cute with the boys allowing for many great candid shots. And that's almost all we are able to do with a toddler b/c posing is nearly out of the question! These boys are gorgeous!
So this is something I don't do very often but it turned out okay considering. The mom of these perfectly behaved gorgeous children had low-key (another word for black backdrop in simple terms) portraits done of her son when he was 6 months old when they lived in Chicago. She wanted to replicate that with her 6 month old daughter this time. I was hesistant to accept the job, lacking confidence to do this right for her, but she convinced me and was very flexible with what I did. I told her I would do some of the low-key portraits but wanted to add in some high-key (white) as well. So here are the results. And her children were two of the easiest and most obedient I have ever worked with! That always helps with the final result!
The photos Julia took of my family are fabulous! We had a great outdoor shoot in the late afternoon that included me, my husband, 2 young daughters and even our dog. Julia was so easy going and the projection of her manner onto us shows in the photos as she really captured the happiness and the fun we were having during the shoot. My girls really took to Julia and had fun posing for her. Julia's photos caught the little sparkles that appear in my girls' eyes when they smile. They are pictures that melt my heart and will be forever cherished.

Without a doubt Julia was the best vendor of our wedding. This was my second wedding so I have something to compare her to. At my first wedding the photographer drove me crazy. I felt constantly interrupted so he could get a picture. In contrast, we barely knew Julia was there and the end result were beautiful pictures that captured every moment. Julia also did a great job with the small children in the wedding party. She is extremely patient and has a way of getting even 2 year olds to participate. Her number 1 goal through out the planning and day of the wedding was pleasing us. She was flexible and so easy to work with. There was absolutely NO stress in this part of our wedding planning. She is a true professional.
-Megan Goldsteen (wedding client) I don’t know if I ever responded after viewing the photos but they are absolutely amazing! Mike and I (along with our friends and family) think they just came out beautifully! No one would believe how good looking we were without your photos!

We have found a happy home for the art! The collage is hung and all others are framed and waiting to be hung. Jason was extremely happy with the final product. I will definitely refer you to everyone and anyone I know! Everyone who has seen the photos just raves about them! I have watched the DVD 4 times and I still cry each time. Even our nanny cried when she saw it. Thanks again and it makes me look forward to future babies I have for you to shoot!

Danny and I loved working every minute with Julia! She had such a gift of capturing every special and meaningful moment of our wedding day. She made every photo unique and personal – we are still receiving compliments from people on how beautiful our wedding pictures are! In addition, it meant a lot to have Julia shoot our engagement photos. It helped us to get to know her even better so that when the wedding day approached, it felt like a close friend or family member was photographing us! She is truly a wonderful person and an exceptional photographer - we feel blessed to have shared our wedding moments with her.

Me in action
Quote of the week
"Happiness: a good bank account, a good cook and good digestion." Jean Jacques Rousseau
So here's a bit of my professional life mixed in with some personal. I love capturing images for people and seeing their reactions to them. It's so gratifying. I also love hanging with my boys (that includes my husband), my friends (as little as I get to do that), boating, going ot the gym and cooking. Also, I am a Christian and believe in the power of prayer and thank God for giving me this gig so that I can stay home with my kids as much as possible yet pursue this fabulous career. Please post a comment and let me know your thoughts! Thanks for visiting!
